Best College Basketball Odds, Picks, and Predictions for Tuesday Match, December 27

After a day and a day and a half without any teams competing, college basketball resumes its regular schedule today with five games involving Division I teams. This comes after neither day featured any teams competing.

The first of our two picks features a matchup between two Big East teams that are projected to finish the season in the upper half of the league standings, while the second pits an ACC team that is vulnerable to an upset against a scrappy team from the ASUN.

The following is a list of our recommended wagers for the college basketball action on Tuesday. (Check more basketball betting odds via OKBET WNBA Basketball Betting Lines ).

Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 Top College Basketball Betting Odds, Picks, and Predictions: Jacksonville vs. Notre Dame Spread

It is not often that a team from a small conference like Jacksonville is able to reload a roster that lost three of its best shooters and the top two assist men from the previous year’s team with a bevy of transfers from Power 6 schools, but that is exactly what happened with Jacksonville.

Cam McDowell (Georgia) and D.J. Gordon (Penn State) have only been able to play a combined total of eight games, but Morehead State transfer D.J. Gordon has played in all of Penn State’s games. Skyelar Potter is currently the top scorer for the team (15.1 points per game).

According to ShotQuality, the Dolphins have a good chance of ranking in the top 15 in both spacing and shooting, and one of the main reasons for this is that Potter is one of four of the team’s top six leading scorers who shoot 43.5% or better from 3-point range.

In the meantime, Notre Dame has dropped three consecutive games and four of its last five in large part due to the fact that its defense does not force turnovers against opponents (363rd in turnover rate) and ranks outside of the top 230 in terms of effective field goal percentage defense.

Seton Hall vs. Marquette Spread

If there is one area of the court in which Shaka Smart’s Marquette team is susceptible defensively, it is the area inside the three-point line and around the basket. These defensive issues were brought to light during their most recent loss to Providence, which took place in double overtime.

As a result, the Friars were able to outrebound the Golden Eagles 48-33 and shoot 22-for-42 (52.4%) from 2-point range. However, Seton Hall is not constructed to take advantage of those weaknesses, as the Pirates shoot less than 50% from inside the 3-point arc (which places them 201st in the country) and rank outside of the top 220 in the percentage of points that come from 2-point range (which places them 222nd).

In its last 23 games against teams with a winning record, Marquette is 15-7-1 against the spread, and we anticipate that it will rise to the occasion and cover the spread despite being the favorite in this heated rivalry game (underdogs are 21-6 ATS in the last 27 meetings between these teams).

Bet: Marquette -7 (-110 at DraftKings)
